Daddy Long Legs

Staying in the Daddy Long Legs Independent Travellers Hotel is like being part of an interactive art exhibition. The thirteen-room boutique backpacker is quite unlike anything else in South Africa. Not only is each room uniquely decorated by an artist, poet, photographer, designer or musician, but, they were afforded complete freedom to interpret the space as they pleased, resulting in a collection of hotel rooms that are an adventurous, humorous (and sometimes ironic) representation of Cape Town’s contemporary cultural landscape.

Dav1es Exclusive Holiday Rentals

Dav1es Exclusive Holiday Rentals / Property Management offers a selection of luxury, self catering holiday rental houses, villas and castles in only the best locations in the Garden Route including Knysna, Noetzie and Plettenberg Bay.

De Wagen Huis

We are an authentic South African Historic destination. The farm is a National Monument and we have the two Bed and Breakfast choices. De Wagenhuis Guest House which is a restored 1800 farm outbuilding and District 7 (completion only Sept 2011), which is more upmarket and modern in style.

We are able to do weddings in the gorgeous small farm chapel or present conferences in our natural history museum.

There is a small museum on the history of motor racing in South Africa as well (1947 to 1965).

We are a working farm milking 400 cows and harvesting  a 1000 tons of citrus for world markets. The milk is turned into cheese just down the road and the citrus is packed some 3 km away.

De Zeekoe Guest Farm

The shrill call of the fish eagle summons you to the heart of the Olifants River Valley. This privately owned, 2000 hectare, working ostrich farm offers both dinner bed and breakfast; and a variety of unique activities including meerkat tours and attractions.

De Zeekoe Guest Farm

De Zeekoe Guest Farm is an owner-managed African farm that offers a variety of accommodation types (from stylish suites to rustic waterfront chalets with both catered and self-catering options). Conveniently situated on the longest wine route in South Africa, Cape Route 62, De Zeekoe’s unique charm attracts guests of a different kind. People from all walks of life visit this stylish African farm in search of a unique experience.

De Zeekoe strives for fairness; ethical business practice and environmental respect form the basis for sustainable tourism. Through social upliftment and addressing the needs of the community De Zeekoe employs and gives housing to 20 families on the farm and educates 120 primary children and 90 pre-primary children through the Zeekoegat Primary School. Generations of their employees and their children have been educated by Zeekoegat Primary.

The farm boasts remarkably diverse vegetation, featuring renosterveld, mountain fynbos, karoo-veld, spekboom veld, and numerous geophytes species. In addition, De Zeekoe is a Birder-Friendly Establishment and is blessed with 162 bird species. Unique under them is our resident Fish Eagle pair, currently being studied by the University of Cape Town. The youngest of the fish eagles has been tagged as part of the long-term research project done by Adam Welz. [www.adamwelz.wordpress.com]. However, flowers and birds apart, their most popular activity is probably the Meerkat Tour. At sunrise by the meerkat burrows, guests are treated to a hot cup of coffee, after which they are issued with a lightweight aluminium chair to sit in while observing the meerkats as they come out of the burrow into the sunshine and then go about their daily routine of foraging and frolicking. These habituated wild animals are never fed or handled by humans.
